The home building industry has traditionally been seen as a male-dominated field, but times are changing. More women are stepping into leadership roles, driving growth, and redefining the standards of success in construction.
From balancing business and family life to managing projects and teams, women in home building are proving their capabilities and making significant impacts.
In this blog, we’ll explore the journeys of women who are breaking barriers, creating profitable businesses, and leading their communities—including the inspiring story of Gina, a shining example of what’s possible for women in this field.
Overcoming Industry Challenges as a Woman

One of our long-term members, Gina, is just absolutely fantastic. And her partner, Pete, we’ve seen them at a couple of live events now, but their personal and business growth since they joined up is off the charts.
It’s funny because Gina is always on Zoom. She always shows up because Pete’s always running the business, the site, and those types of things.
But to know where they’ve come from when they first started with us to recently win their biggest value project by almost, I think it was double or triple what they’d done in the past.
Their turnovers increased, but most importantly, they’re making money.
- They’re making profit.
- They know the numbers.
- They’re paying themselves salaries and all these types of things.
But it’s funny because we see in our group that females often mark themselves low. And it’s just… our industry is really run by them.
I know I wouldn’t be where I am if it wasn’t for the people I have in my office helping me.
So creating a safe space like we have where, like I just think it’s absolutely fantastic that Gina turns up to nearly all of our Zooms and can sit there and can take it in and talk about business and advice with builders. It’s fantastic.
Redefining What’s Possible in Home Construction

She’s an incredible role model and an incredible leader in our community. She’s very hard on herself.
I love that we can be her cheer squad and remind her, “Hey, you are knocking it out of the park. Look how far you’ve come.” And give her a different perspective about how she is seen.
She’s done extraordinary things in terms of putting into practice ways to prioritise how she wants to spend her time, looking at where she wants to help her community and where she wants to pull back from things.
She’s now putting strategies into place to get paid off the tools.
She’s had great news about how they’ve been building their team and how people want to work with them.
And then also the reputation that they’ve built in their regional community as an incredible quality builder that keeps coming back to them over and over again.
It’s just amazing to see.
And again, doing the PAC Process, working in a place where, you know, you’d have every builder telling you, “You can’t do that.” They are literally redefining what’s possible.
And I love seeing Gina turn up for her Friday wins and share with us what she’s celebrating, because it’s just extraordinary to see as a woman in the industry, working inside her family building business. She is just incredible.

She’s getting time with the kids, coaching the netball team, all these types of things.
And it’s just so cool to see when people implement, they put in the time, they put in the effort, they get the rewards.
They recently renovated their own home, which for a lot of builders is a big thing. So yeah, really, really stoked at how far she’s come.
Gina’s story showcases the remarkable achievements women can accomplish in the home building industry. Her success demonstrates that with the right strategies and mindset, women can thrive as leaders in a traditionally male-dominated field, inspiring others to follow in their footsteps.
As more women step into the spotlight, the home building industry is set to evolve in exciting new ways.
